Delta Sigma Theta Beautiful Breakfast
The Stone Mountain-Lithonia Alumnae Chapter of
The Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, coordinated by Karen Davis, provided a ‘Beautiful Breakfast’ experience for some of our mothers and their children. In addition, household baskets were given to the mothers, essential learning center gifts and presents for children of our programs were also provided. More importantly, these compassionate and caring ladies really made a connection with each family member. This wonderful organization has been supporting Jerusalem House families for more than five years; and not just at Christmas, but all year long. We are so grateful for the friendship and continued partnership that we have with the Stone Mountain-Lithonia Chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
St. Thomas More Catholic Church AIDS Ministry Fellowship
St. Thomas More Catholic Church’s AIDS Ministry, spearheaded by Paul Blackstone and Bob Slavin, provided an early Christmas dinner and fellowship to the Family Program residents in 2011, in addition to sponsoring the children of the program with Christmas presents. Jerusalem House is overwhelmed by their generosity and compassion and is thankful to each member of the group. They are – from left to right – Bob, Corky, Duane, Paul (up front), Mary, Molly, Pete, Ann and Shannon.
Beautifying The Family Program
The courtyard at the Family Program has been transformed by the hard work of many volunteer groups over many months. We recognize and thank them for creating a decorative paved area for the 12 mothers and 25+ children who reside on the Family Program campus. See the photo album on Flickr.
